Who doesn’t love getting to go on vacation and explore a new destination? You put your out of office message up, take a break from all those emails and calls and get to reconnect with yourself and your family. You’re all packed and ready to hit the road – and then it hits you. A tinge of guilt because you must leave someone behind – someone who is definitely part of the family. Yup, we’re talking about your four-legged friends and we all know how bad it feels to leave them behind or send them to the kennel while you go and have all the fun. So why not avoid that guilt all together! What about packing them up with the rest of the crew and bringing them on your next vacation?
This week on the blog we’re talking about some of our favorite pet friendly resorts and putting the spotlight on one of our most popular and unique destinations – Branson, Missouri! Pet friendly and in the mountains? Something tells us everyone is going to have a great time (Fido included)!
Cabins at Green Mountain
Located in the Ozark Mountains is the diverse vacation destination of Branson, Missouri. The city’s unique attractions, museums and shops make it the perfect getaway for couples, families and four-legged friends traveling together!
And while there’s plenty of awesome activities to do without your dog (horseback riding in Dogwood Canyon, ziplining at Wolfe Mountain or paddle boarding on Table Rock Lake – to name a few!) we wanted to give you some options that are just as pet friendly as the resort itself!
Go for a hike! Explore the Ozarks, something you and your crew are sure to love! Chinquapin Trail at Table Rock State Park is a natural surface trail that is relatively flat, offering a home to native grasses and wildflowers that help support their local wildlife (your furry friend will love this)! If you’re looking for something a little more rigorous, Lakeside Forest Trails are in the heart of Branson and provide the perfect escape with 140 acres and 5.3 trails ranging from easy to difficult.
Take a family photo! Commemorate your family’s pet friendly vacation at Buster’s Old Time Photos. Go back in time with Wild West or Victorian era props – get dressed up and find the perfect place for your furry friend to fit in the photo!
Enjoy Downtown Branson! Spend some time walking around the Historic Downtown Branson district. While your dog can’t join you inside the shops, instead grab a meal on the patio of one of Branson’s many restaurants!
Visit the dog park! Do something just for your favorite family member (you know it’s true!) and take them to the Elmo & Rosalea Marrs Dog Park. Dogs have one and a half acres to run freely without any leash restrictions. Let them get some energy out before hitting the town without them in the evening!
The accommodations at Cabins at Green Mountain include two and three-bedroom rentals – sleeping up to 8 comfortably (and maybe even giving your pup their own bed)! Each cabin has a full kitchen, cozy and spacious living area, jetted tubs (in some cabins) and a screened in porch where your pup will love bird watching! Amenities available to guests include two outdoor swimming pools, a picnic area with BBQ grills and an abundance of outdoor space to take the dog on walks!
We know that Cabins at Green Mountain probably sounds like the perfect vacation to bring your dog along and we don’t disagree – but while we’re at it, we’ve got a few other pet friendly resorts we’d like to mention!
Festiva Orlando Resort is located in Kissimmee, Florida. Yet another one of our very popular destinations! Here you can enjoy being in close proximity to Disney World, Universal Studios and Seaworld – all with your pup in tow (but please, no cats. Mickey wouldn’t approve!) While they can’t join you at Disney, there’s plenty of historic landmarks, sightseeing and restaurants with pet friendly patios available in Kissimmee to bring your pets along.
Available accommodations include one, two and three-bedroom rentals that have full or partial kitchens, large living areas, washers and dryers, and porches.
Rangeley Lake Resort in Rangeley, Maine. Rangeley makes the perfect year-round destination, especially for those traveling with pets. Spring and summer offer sunny days with lakes, rivers and streams – perfect for soaking up the sun and even letting your dog take a dip! Fall and Winter are still home to plenty of outdoor activities that your dog can join in and a few they can’t, like skiing and snowboarding. While you’re hitting the slopes, they can be keeping the cabin warm for your return!
Rangeley is home to two and three-bedroom cabins that fit perfectly with the outdoor setting. Rustic décor and comfortable overstuffed furniture help guests to relax after a day outdoors! Bedrooms are quiet and private and each cabin has a full kitchen.
At VacationCondos, we believe that your furry friends should get to share in the memories you make on vacation. Don’t miss out on the guilt free chance to enjoy vacationing with your whole family.
