Lakeside Vacations

It’s getting to be that time of year we all love – the weather is getting warmer, the days are getting longer and vacation season is in full swing! Memorial Day is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate than with a lake vacation – one of our favorite ways to welcome a new season. There’s plenty of ways to celebrate, but spending time by the lake is one of our favorite ways to welcome in this new season.

What do we like most about lake side vacations? Whether you’re interested in relaxing in the sun or hitting the water to try some adrenaline packed water sports – there’s an endless amount of opportunities all at your fingertips!

We’re featuring lake vacations on the blog this week! Join us as we visit some of our favorite resort properties with lakes on site for a resort profile and a few suggestions of nearby activities. Your next vacation starts here!

Up first is the Blue Heron Beach Resort, located in Orlando, Florida. While the resort is known for its proximity to Disney World and other famous Orlando attractions, its beauty lies resort side at Lake Bryan. Spend your days at Disney or Universal and wrap up your evening on the resort’s observation deck. While overlooking the lake, you may even catch some of Disney’s fireworks show! With its own dock, there’s also plenty of water sports available onsite and nearby. Try some jet skiing, boating, paddle boarding or water skiing – our favorite activities at the Blue Heron (besides Disney, of course!).

Each one and two-bedroom accommodation at the Blue Heron features full kitchens, washers and dryers, wi-fi, jetted tubs in the master bathrooms and updated, contemporary décor. And while the lake (which you can view from your room’s private balcony) is our preference, guests can also enjoy plenty of additional amenities like a 6,000 square foot pool, children’s pool, nearby miniature golf course and fitness center.

Branson Yacht Club is next and located on Branson, Missouri’s popular Table Rock Lake. While this lake does offer its guests plenty of space to enjoy water sports, we like it for its laid-back atmosphere – perfect for relaxing! With almost 800 miles of shoreline, Table Rock Lake is home to many spots that offer the perfect place to lay out and take a dip in its crystal-clear waters! Take as short drive around the lake to Moonshine Beach where there’s plenty of room to catch some rays, hike and view local wildlife.

This lake front property features one and two-bedroom accommodations – all including full kitchens, spacious living areas and private bedrooms. Onsite you’ll find amenities like sports courts, swimming pools, a restaurant and bar and a full-service marina – where you can take advantage of lake activities like fishing and pontoon boat rides!

Located in Hot Springs, Arkansas in the Ouachita Mountains, is our next resort – Hot Springs Village. This resort boasts the perfect getaway for outdoor lovers – there’s lake AND mountain access. And while the resort offers access to Lake Desoto and its marina there’s also plenty to do just outside of the resort grounds. Enjoy some of the best golf courses in Arkansas (there’s 8 to choose from!), the world-famous mineral baths and amazing local hikes (try the Eagle Rock Loop in Ouachita National Forest).

The one and two-bedroom condos available at Hot Springs Village include a full kitchen, large living quarters (perfect for taking the whole family), quiet bedrooms and scenic Arkansas views. Among the included access to Lake Desoto, other resort amenities include outdoor pools, fitness facilities and walking trails.

Rangeley Lake Resort in Rangeley, Maine is (you guessed it!) located on Rangeley Lake. Maine’s Rangeley Lakes region is comprised of six major lakes combined with hundreds of smaller ponds, streams, rivers and lakes. We love visiting Rangeley during the warmer months but it also is one of our favorite year-round destinations, offering unique activities for everyone – no matter the season! This time of year is perfect for exploring the waters by canoeing and kayaking – great activities for a family or for a couple.

Rangeley Lake Resort’s one and two-bedroom cabins feature rustic décor and comfortable, overstuffed furniture – perfect for relaxing in after spending a long day outdoors! The cabin bedrooms are private and quiet, each housing a full kitchen – the perfect amenity for a longer stay with the whole crew! Once you’ve had your fill of the lake, spend time enjoying the Resort’s heated pool, hot tub, cedar sauna and fitness facility.

Last, but definitely not least, is our only west coast lake property, Tahoe Beach and Ski Club. And we’re sure you’ve heard a little about this lake! Located in South Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, this alpine retreat offers gorgeous views and lakeside living. While in Tahoe spending your days on the lake or laying out on the beach is definitely an option, there’s also a wide array of unique activities that can be done lakeside or on the water! Take a hang gliding tour and view the lake from above, ride horseback (lake side) and take a picnic in the mountains or try out an on-water wine tasting cruise!

Tahoe Beach and Ski’s cabin-inspired accommodations include studio, one and two-bedroom, townhouse and cabin style rentals – so bring your friends and family or head for a couple’s getaway! Suite amenities include a kitchenette or full kitchen, cozy living spaces and balconies. The Resort has private beach access to get you lake side, a fitness center and sauna, a heated outdoor pool, sport courts and a playground.

We know you’re probably ready to hit the lake and soak up those first glimpses of summer and now, with the help of, you can! We’ve got discounted rates available at all of our favorite lakeside properties to help make your next vacation a breeze.
